What to Expect

The race starts at 7.30pm, heading from Pilsley to Hardwick Hall and back on country roads. There is a long exhilarating climb up to Hardwick, where you can have a drink, admire the views, and encourage the runners as you go down the hill. Milk the applause as you pass the drinkers at the Hardwick Inn. Another uphill section precedes a 1k downhill sprint to the finish. There will be an enthusiastic welcome from the Pilsley spectators. Exciting prizes include £100 for the first male and female runner to break the course records, first male and female Pilsley resident to finish, team prizes, and most importantly, every finisher gets a unique ‘I Beat the Hardwick Hill’ t-shirt.

What do I need to raise?

The race is free to watch for spectators. There are also free parking facilities for runners.

Runners wishing to enter for free through Weston Park Cancer Charity must raise a minimum of £100 in sponsorship. Contact the charity by email at charityteam@wpcancercharity.org.uk.

You will receive a free event t-shirt once you've given your details.

Why Take Part?

Organisers North Derbyshire Running Club have supported the charity for a number of years, with almost £5,000 raised to date.

Weston Park Cancer Charity is here to face cancer with you. Our services, advice, therapies and support are for you and the people close to you, helping everyone to live with and beyond cancer.

The funds we raise also support vital, pioneering research and clinical trials led by the exceptional medical experts at Weston Park Cancer Centre.

It’s our job to care in every sense for our patients and their families. Our help is free, and we’re here for you, together at every step.
