Autumn/Winter Update

Restoration work on schedule

The work to restore and refurbish the park is about half way through, with the majority of the works on schedule to be completed by the spring of 2008.

Those of you who regularly visit the park will have noticed a lot of changes over the last six months; fortunately, we have now reached the stage in the work where the disruption for park users should be easing soon.

The demolition and clearance work is complete and from now on every week improvements will start to appear around the park.

A lot of work is also taking place off-site including the refurbishment of the bandstand and the construction of the new bridges for the lake and a shelter, all of which will be installed in the park in the spring of 2008.

A new manager comes in

Parks and Countryside have now appointed a Park Manager to lead the existing team of gardeners.

Andrew Phillips was the supervisor at Millhouses Park and we are very pleased to welcome him to the team.

Andrew started work in November and is responsible for all three of the Crookesmoor Parks, Weston Park, Crookes Valley Park and the Ponderosa.
